McDonald is heralded for his strong pass rush abilities which were on display this past season as he amassed 17 sacks. His Saguaro (Ariz.) High School Sabercats earned three consecutive Class 4A Division I state titles from 2006-08 with McDonald being a key contributor. The program also racked up a 37-game win streak along the way. Surrounded by scholarship offers, McDonald elected to attend Arizona State where he will play for head coach Dennis Erickson.
